Permits. Many municipalities in Maine require permits for residential projects. If it is a Commercial Project, Life Safety permits may be needed. Both require plans custom tailored for your project for permit submittals.
Planning ahead saves money. Many locations in Maine do not require building permits. This is convenient on one hand but means no one is inspecting or verifying the work or you are even getting what you paid for. The cost of our services will be less than mistakes and poor work needing to be rectified.
Safe guarding your investment. The plans can be used to define a contract or agreement with your builder. During construction our services can include periodic inspections safe guarding your building expenses.

Our Architectural and Building experience starts in 1978, over 45 years ago. We have extensive experience in a wide range of Residential and Commercial projects. Our specialty is projects built with SIPs, structural-insulated-panels, a prefabricated building shell that exceeds new State of Maine IECC efficiency mandates. Using SIPs as an exterior shell is the most cost effective method to achieve high efficiency which will deliver savings for the lifetime of the building. We also have experience in ICFs, strawbale, metal framing, steel, glulam, and CI, Continuous Insulated buildings.
Since 1991 we have designed, built, consulted on, lived within, worked in, buildings constructed with SIPs.
In 1982 we got our first opportunity to design & build our first passive solar homes. Since then, our clients have brought us hundreds of projects ranging from single family residential homes, small homes, high end homes, homes in-between, including some of the highest rated Passive House rated homes built. We have extensive experience in commercial offices & warehouses, retail stores, apartment complexes, municipal community centers, federal wildlife centers, emergency housing & shelters, and Habitat for Humanity housing.
Our specialty is Creative Highly Efficient Buildings.
